That's right, I'm starting a thread about an 18 year old miniseries.
It's rather an odd thing that I didn't watch it when it initially aired, especially given how Dana Delany makes me feel in my pants. I must have been working late or something when it was on. I dunno.
I've only just seen the first DVD, I think there are two more 45 minute episodes left, but so far I'm relatively impressed. It's relatively prescient as far as technology is concerned (not so much fashion-wise). It's also interesting noting the tie-ins with politics, technology, and religion. In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, they talk about the Liberty Act increasing police authority after a terrorist attack......
I think it tries too hard to be weird and stylish, and the storytelling suffers because of that. But it's a really interesting premise that it's attacking. I don't know if the last 90 minutes will manage to tie it up, but so far it's definitely been worth watching.
