Hope everyone is ok? Cambo, where are you? North or south? And where's VS these days?

I'm in Wellington, but I have friends in Christchurch, so it's worrying. Multiple deaths have already been confirmed
. Seems like it wasn't as big a magnitude as the last one, but shallower. Would people like updates from Stuff.co.nz?

Glad to hear you're aok, Cambo! Hope that everyone you know are aok...but, yes, watching the news here and unconfirmed fatalities.
Some of the footage is terrible (and terrifying).
Vain is north island and he's ok.
So now we've got to work out where VS is (he used to be in Christchurch, I think...where's Menolly when you need her!

Word down the electronic grapevine is that Variol Son is indeed in Christchurch, as well as a few others including Dorian.
No-one should panic if they are not heard from right away- power is out to 80 percent of the city.

One of my friends here on the Watch from when we played Montresor's Borderland's, Shadow Strike, lives in ChCh. He says the only area really affected is "central," which Cambo tells me means the central business district. Apparently the quake hit during a busy time of day there, but if those we are wondering about were not in the central business district when it hit, they should be fine. Just unable to get word out.

Upper Hutt is in Wellington so she should be fine
Hopefully all other Watchers in Chch are doing OK as well

It appears that all my friends (and even acquaintances) in Christchurch are ok, although a couple of them have lost homes. I'm relieved, and that makes me feel kinda selfish, as I'm basically relieved that some other person was part of the body count
.

Is she related to the drummer Ricky Gooch?

Dorian's ok, he's posted to Facebook in the last hour, but his home isn't. He's staying with some friends.

Last I heard, Dorian and vs lived in the same neighborhood (although I don't think they ever met), but that was before vs went abroad for so long. If they are still in the same neighborhood, I'm not surprised both of their homes are uninhabitable.

This planet used to seem so safe when I was a kid..........glad everybody we know made it through; sad for the people who didn't.
