Do you think that Anakin in EP 1 & 2 was portrayed well?

What do you think? Has he been well written? Or is he the furtherest from Darth Vader since Britney Spears?

I think he's ok, but it is hard to believe that he could turn into the super cool Darth Vader

Unless it changes in the last film, Anakin has been portrayed pretty poorly so far. Jake Lloyd was zzzzzzzzzz and Hayden is too annoying. I know he's supposed to be but...ugh. I like the pictures I've seen of Anakin for the last film.

Acually, I think I liked the little kid better than Hayden -- who is a perfect match for Portman in his wooden acting....

I liked the little kid more as well. Hayden is an annoying little parasite.

Not exactly greatly written, not exactly well portrayed. As a kid he was unbelievable (not in the good sense), as a young man, he was forced to change too much over too short a period of time to be fully convincing, at least for that actor.

I agree, there was nothing in common with the two actors, Hayden was tooooooo different from the Jake to give a good portrayal as Anakin.

That may be true. More likely is that GL has written himself into a corner, and it would have taken an a-list actor/actress combination to have pulled it out. I'm sure Hayden and Natalie both will become the sort of actors he needed, but not yet. Also, the age thing works against him. He's too young for all of this to be happening; I don't understand why they didn't make Anakin in his late twenties when all this started up on him.

Yeah, I think Lucas is fully to blame... I agree with dAN 
(First I agree with Dablo, now dAN! What is happening?) Because Natalie can certainly act in other films I have seen her in. In fact she was nothing short of amazing... Though I have never seen Hayden act in anything other than Star Wars, if indeed what he was doing can be called "Acting"... I will take dAN's word that he is a good actor. But in Star Wars... They both sucked.
