Here's the winners so far...
Oh, wait. Too lazy to copy and paste that. Well. Enjoy the Oscars (on right now at the time of this posting!). Discuss the winners, losers, and your reactions all in this neat and convenient hub.
I for one am thinking I could watch Anne Hathaway host anything. Like a lemon party, even.
Also: really hope Franco gets Best Actor and
127 Hours wins Best Picture (though I'd be happy with
Black Swan or
Toy Story 3), but that's just me! Boo that
Swan didn't win Best Cinematography!

That surprises me. I already have the soundtracks for
Inception and
Tron Legacy, which I thought were both great. I'll have to check this one out.

The night was a little off. I've long said that the Oscars are my Superbowl, so I think I experienced what many football lovers experience with the horrendous half-time shows.
I usually enjoy the opening of the show, and enjoy the silly song and dance number that typically kicks it off. But they had none tonight, which was disappointing. This Oscars I felt like I was watching the MTV Movie Awards with all amateur writers. There were a few good jokes, but for the most part, everything seemed a bit off.
When they finally did have a musical number, it especially seemed weird. Yes, it would have been great with Huge Jackman doing the number with Anne Hathaway like they year he hosted, but since I guess he didn't want to do it after all, so they should have dropped it. Instead, they had her do a number alone complaining about him not joining her, while they put the spotlight on him with the unapologetic "sorry" face. I kept expecting him to just go ahead and jump on up, but since he didn't, it just felt pointless and kinda stupid.
And on that subject, I really like James Franco, but did he really need to add another item to his increasingly diverse resume? He was not cut out to be a host of the Oscars. I was kind of looking forward to him as host, but I thought he'd come alive a bit more than usual. It's funny because he tends to be especially good in movies and particularly was amazing in Freaks & Geeks - I just wish he was playing a role instead of himself, which I've noticed tends to be stony-faced. Anne was doing all she could to keep the evening fun and Franco seemed to be a weight at the other end. If Anne Hathaway was allowed to go it alone, I think she would have torn it up.
There were some good moments though - particularly Kirk Douglas.

I must say I tune out a bit when the winners speeches become a list of people they must thank. Mostly poeple we have never heard of or never care to, or catering to the fear of omission that the tabloids will pick up on...."She never thanked God" or "He shunned his mother at the Oscars"......running as headlines the following day!

Everyone knows that Oscars = Oscars Fashion. What was everyone's favorite piece of clothing??
I really liked Amy Adams' dress because she doesn't often get it so right. This is the first time I remember her using color (or at least a color that flatters her so well.)

I also love seeing cap sleeves on the red carpet.

James Franco.
Oh, wait, it really didn't work for me.
Meanwhile, Anne made me aroused with most of the outfits she wore. Even the one in this picture, but especially what may have been the last costume change she made of the telecast. And I can't seem to find a picture of it.

Yeah, Anne's stylist killed it this year. There wasn't a single mistake.

There was one...the blue monstrosity...though it was the material, not the cut or color.

I thought it was lovely, how it looked like liquid. I liked that entire collection, though, so was mostly just excited to see it on a real person.

Heh...really different eyes...I thought it looked like some cheap pleather/spandex crossbreed polished with Mop-n-Glo!
I wonder how she'd have looked in Christian Bale's wife's dress though...I liked that one [and think it would be ultra cool in something other than black.]

I see where you're coming from, but here, take a look at the rest of the collection. I think that looking at the context of the rest of the pieces gives a different perspective. Maybe you can see where I'm coming from

Not that you need to, or anything. But they're pretty clothes to look at.

Apparently, having eyes is out this season, according to this collection. And they don't seem too keen on faces either.
