I think Damelon recently posted that somewhere around here-Gen. Discussion? And I speculated that that was what could have happened to TC a long time ago in the 1st and 2nd Chrons of TC forum.
in my funky old writing style back in '02 I wrote:Well we know how rare cases of leprosy r in the United States but my research indicates that the largest incidences found in the US occur in Texas and Louisiana. They have also found the same bacteria that causes Hansen's disease in armadillos!

this is odd - when we moved to Texas some 12 yrs ago everyone advised us that armadillos carried leprosy. they are one of the few animals here that no one eats.
i assumed this was not only fact, but common knowledge.

It was known they carried the disease, what wasn't proven until recently was that they could transmit it to humans.
