E-Fest: We've been bumped, but it gets BETTER!!!!

...at least it was by a cool-ass Emmy award winning TV show.

Just got a call from the Cooperage, apparently either there was a mis-booking (yeah right) or we just got bumped by the Breaking Bad season finale cast party of over 300 people. Thank goodness I don't have a lot to do tomorrow so I'll be on the phone calling every restaurant in Albuquerque trying to find a new location for our dinner with Donaldson. (There's always my house-tons of room in the backyard and the new deck can serve as a stage-if worse comes to worse  :P )

If worse comes to worse I already know SRD's eating preferences so a menu would be easy and entirely doable. The only issue I see with that option is losing the formality of the affair. This has both pros and cons from filming the Q&A aspect and keeping the thing organized and within it's time constraints.

The biggest problem with getting stiffed this late is the problem of finding a back up with competition from weddings. Maybe one of the hotels has a room large enough for us to meet in and will either let us get food from them or allow us to cater it in.

No I was semi-joking about my house, we have to find another venue. I'll come up with something tomorrow.

Good news. probably better news:

Just came from The Cooperage and they have an area called Backup B it faces north to some sunlight and is on the other side of their awesome salad bar. It sits about 40 intimately. What's good about "intimately" is that there's no stage, so if we put Donaldson in the center not only can he address everyone clearly (a little bit of a problem in the other room) but people can actually talk to him during dinner as well (that's if he wants to be disturbed). The area is also sealed off so no patrons or waiters will be disturbing us. The lighting is just fine for filming and the noise level may be lower. A little more intimate, but on the whole, much better, AND if you wish you can peek your head around the corner of the other room to see the stars of Breaking Bad.

(luci: The Articoke Cafe is yummy, it's just way to small...)

Brealikng Bad an AMC series finishing it's third year and stars Emmy Award winner Brian Cranston. For anyone who watched Malcomb in the Middle Cranston was the goofy Dad, in this show he plays a public school science teacher who learns that he has terminal lung cancer and turns to making Meth to support his family after he's gone. Filmed entirely in Albuquerque and locations throughout New Mexico the show is serious gripping and award winning drama.

danlo, we are all immensely in your debt for all the work you do to put this together and make it happen!

danlo is awesomeness personified.

Yeah, smaller might be better. We only used about a third of the room last time, and we had some gawkers, too. (Hopefully this time, the gawkers will be so excited about the TV stars that they'll leave us in peace....)
