Jack C. Harris: Artist Trevor VonEeden and I proposed this super group to DC. I never got a good answer as to why is was rejected.

Trevor VonEeden: Wow! I'd completely forgotten all about this piece--I must've been REAL young, then! I can give you a good answer as to why it probably wasn't used--same reason why the co-creator of Black Lightning (and a fairly good artist, to boot) has not worked for DC Comics since 9/11--and was told, when asking for the opportunity to once again draw the very character that he'd co-created for them: "Try back in two weeks"...for the past TEN years! The reason is (still) RACISM. Ask Tony Isabella--he's the other co-creator of Black Lightning--and he's white!

has dc or marvel had an all female super group? btw - i really wish they had done that comic. esp with Enchantress as a wild card. I am assuming Babs (Batgirl) would have been the leader. nice balance of powers and personalities.

I've never even heard of DC's Enchantress character. Black Canary was a better choice, as her popularity helped sell Birds of Prey. The Title, 'Birds of Prey", is also much better.

Enchantress was (Still is? Not sure if she's alive.) a very powerful... enchantress. I first met her in Suicide Squad.

Enchantress was later in Shadowpact. (very underated comic.)

when this would have been published she was still June Moone, it would have been interesting to the two sides compete. i am guessing she would have been under the watchful eye of Supergirl.
