they ended the show last night. started off as an excellent show and got lost somewhere.

the writers decided to make the lead Donofrio some sort of victim so we lost interest.

but the show is directly responsible for me being here.

we were big contributers to the message board about Donofrio.
www.vincentdonofriofans.net/phpBB2/index.php

we had lots of fun, met great people, some of whom we still keep in contact with. i made a cd for the ladies there of songs i felt related to the show. traded music and books with people. generally had a great time.

then on Tue Jul 13, 2004 aposter there linked me to this...
theland.antgear.com/

we had been talking about Covenant and she wanted me to know there was info out there. from there i linked to this site. and 7 years later ended up with a bunch of you in New Mexico.

so a fond farewel to LOCI. and a fond farewell to the Vixens. (the fans of the show.) I will pop in on occasion to that board. but it is a pale memory of the rollicking good times we once had.

as i posted there one time...

"Hail! Weal!
Land and life!
Pulse of power in tree and stone!
Earth-heart-blood
vital, vivid surge
in pith and rock!
Sun-warmth
balm-bliss bless
all air and sea and lung and life!
Land's soul's beauty!
Skyweir
Earthroot
weal!
Hail!"

It was the only L&O show I actually liked quite a lot...mostly cuz of him.
And at least the ending implied that he had finally broken out of the victim trend.

CI was one of my favorite shows simply for Vincent's talent...I never watched any of the Goldbulm/Noth/etc...replacements. Hopefully he'll take on some major motion picture roles--he's an insanely better actor than 90% of those those dam hacks out there.

I also watched a lot of those, started paying attention a lot because of D'Onofrio - I know him from "Men In Black" - if you haven't seen seen that one, I seriously recommend you.

the first half o ffull metal jacket is simply one of the greatest movies ever made. donofrio is amazing.

also check out "the whole wide world" in which he plays robert e howard. (pulp author - conan, kull, solomon kane - among many, many, many others)

i also love "happy accidents" a small indie film that really is a joy to watch.

check out "salton sea" donofrio - you have to see it to believe it. run out and find out. i do not want to spoil it.
