Just checking in, I'm new to KW. I hadn't known there were this many other TC lovers in the world- I think I shall enjoy posting here.

Welcome to the Watch, OisinAnderson. :welcome:

Glad to see you showing such enthusiasm, and I wish you to really enjoy this place :bestwishes:

If you need some advice, like where is something or how something works - feel free to ask, I'll try to help and most likely many other people will :)

About the only thing I see that worries me is that a lot of what I've wondered about has been talked to death, judging by the searches I've done. A little afraid of bumping ancient threads. |R

That's not something to be afraid of, bumping old threads is good.

One of the best things in Stephen Donaldson's books is their depth. It may seem many times a thing is all clear from the beginning or talked about enough, but then a new look brings new thoughts and new readings, like you're looking at a drop of water with a microscope :)

Welcome OisinAnderson.

Please do bump old threads, it creates nostalgia for the oldies and new perspective for relative newcomers like me.

Already started. Until about a month ago I didn't even know there were more TC books, and I just got done reading the new ones. Picking up on what look like discrepancies.

I have no idea how I'm going to survive until 2013 when the last book comes out...

Be Welcome to the Watch, OisinAnderson.
Be Well Come and True.

Mind if I call you OA? Or Oisin?
Or something a little shorter?

As you just finished reading the most recent books in the chrons, I assume you found the Watch via the dedication pages?

And please do not be concerned regarding bumping old threads at all. We much prefer that over a new thread being started on a previously discussed topic because someone did not search and see what all had been said before. New blood...er...insights (yeah insights, that's the ticket) in to old topics are always welcome!

Once you get your fill of SRD topics, come explore the rest of the Watch. There is a microcosm of topics to be discussed here.

...and oy.
Here goes danlo with his teasing again... ;)

Hardly a microcosm! More of a panoply, a continuum, an extensive array.

As well as SD with his pedantry and stalking...

Of course, I did. That was for the benefit of those who do not translate Menollian as fluently as I do.

Welcome to the Watch. :D Ignore the madmen and post away. Old topics or new...even if we've discussed it before, many people will be only too happy to discuss it again. ;)

Ah, I'm already getting named without using my actual name

That teasing is good and even useful

Savor Dam, thank you for the panoply summary, though I'd say Menolly's is close enough and quite clear.

Avatar, do you have a list? I admit myself (having gone off the rails)

Sarge, posted something there. Not sure it should be like that or there at all, well, like someone said (can you remember who and where from?), for the record, I tried. A link to some of the Lovecraft's short stories, comics version.

Eff, are you looking for a list of crazy people on the Watch? I think this link oughta cover it. ;)

If you select sort method by total posts and ascending order, you'll be able to get 16 and almost a half pages of possibly sane ones.

Though they did register... Well, maybe they understood where they were shortly after.

My friends on SW call me "O". :)

I'm not as hardcore as some when it comes to that particular form of geekery, but I can hold my own talking about some Vertigo titles. *shrug*

There are a lot more people here than I thought! :D

We come out of the woodwork sometimes. ;) Too bad you didn't join a month or so ago - a bunch of us just got together to have dinner with SRD in Albuquerque. Ah well, next time. :)

I'd guess that there's only about a hundred odd people active every day, but as Ali said, there's always some appearing from the woodwork, and others disappearing back into it I guess. But we're certainly active enough for it to be fun. :D
