when you guys read the songs in the books, do you sing them to yourselves or just read them, like poems? I find a hard time finding a tune for them, but for some odd reason, I'm always singing them to the tune of gilligians island (I did that with LOTR to!) It seems to me that most of the 'songs' are really more poems then songs

The giant songs I always sing like the giligian islands theme song, with a deep voice, kinda sailorish! I can never fit any of them to a tune or rythm (any of the songs that is)

I'm sure I would also sing the songs to the tune of Gilligan's Island...if I knew it... I have tried to sing them, but I can't contrive a tune that fits, so i just read them...

I'm working up to asking my friend who writes vocal/choral music to compose a setting for "Lord Kevin's Lament".

I would start off with a good tune for most songs, but then a line somewhere about midway usually threw me off.

When I go for walks in the summertime in the forest that borders our property up here on the mountain, I hum a tune for "Andelian, Forgive!" :)

Also, when I'm near the ocean, I'll "chant" or "recite" out loud this song of the Giants'...

Come sea and wave--
broad footpath of those who roam
and gateway to the world!
All ways lead the way to Home...

"Starfare's Gem appeared to ride music as well as wind."
