locked thread and gilligan's island

I've been reading through old threads...getting to know the site and all...I came upon one that had been locked...it started as one thing...went on to WKRP...and touched a bit on the old maryanne or ginger question. Since the thread is locked i couldn't answer to it so i'm reopening the discussion here. I remember when gilligan's island was showing first run episodes in prime time...so i've pondered the question with friends for many years. My opinion on the subject has changed over the years...at first i didn't even contemplate it...i was six years old and the show was about gilligan...then i grew up and seeing the reruns i was definitely a maryanne guy...it was somewhere in my forties when i realized i had wasted all those years with maryanne, when it was mrs. howell i should have been with the whole time. I also enjoy the jeannie versus samantha debate...

I like your username race2three! It has a lot of different meanings to me.
I don't remember the thread you are talking about, I guess I'm not really enough of a vet to keep these kinds of things in mind assuming I ever saw it.
I see what you mean about being with the woman you should have been with the whole time. Once you realize that abouta woman though, isn't it usually too late?
YOU KNOW IT'S TOO LATE WHEN IT'S ALL GREAT
YOU KNOW IT'S TOO LATE WHEN IT'S ALL GREAT
YOU KNOW YOU TOO LATE WHEN IT'S ALL GREAT
THE MOMENT IT'S OVER

thanks holsety...wondering what kind of meanings "race2three" has for you...for me it was back in my pool playing days when we would "race to three" to win the match. first person to win three games was the winner of the match. Thanks for posting the pic of Lovee for me SGT...makes me think about what coulda been...sigh....

For the oldies TV pic, I went with the one on the right. Sorry if that definintion of manliness doesn't measure up to yours, I really haven't clarified yet what the "correct" answer is.

I thought of that song, don't remember who it is by, where he talks about the trinity and the father/mother/child combination as 3 being the magic number.

SGT posted that pic...and you don't have to apologize...lol...the beauty of the ginger mary ann question is that there isn't a "wrong" answer...

Holsety...if it is any comfort, most of us who share your heritage probably make the same choice. Ginger has her draw...but Maryanne is the real deal to us.
