I know that song!!!!

But I can't remember from where.

I want to say it's something by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass ... but I am not sure.

OK, I know the riff, can even "la-la-la" the next part, but the title and artist is eluding me. I can visualize listening to it in the back seat of the car from the station my mom played, WGBS 710-AM in Miami in the late 1960s-early 1970s.

If I put it aside, it may come to me out of the blue.

It may be Herb Albert, way...

I've been going through some TB music on the web, seeing if I can match it up.

Let me warn everyone: DO NOT LISTEN TO HERB ALPERT AND THE TIJUANA BRASS.

If there was ever music that sticks in your head and you want it out out out but cannot make it go no matter how hard you try, this is it.

I am now listening to Led Zeppelin until I detox.

Heh...completely unexpected, looked more like a still taken from Warrant's "Cherry Pie" video than a cover from the evil genius behind elevator music.

I was right, Lord Zom. Here's your song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ban_2L-9XIY

(When I was growing up, my parents played that album a LOT. It's glommed in my brain now.)

OMG!!! My parents had that album too!!!! :hairs: :hairs: :hairs: I thought HA initially but kept rifling though Dave Brubeck's stuff...let me tell you the Brubeck was a hell of a lot more enlightening!Image
*as Vraith says: isn't that song, like, the godfather of all elevator music?*

Jesus, you don't know how many Herb Alpert songs I listened to looking for this one yesterday, thanks!
At least four complete albums!

Awesome, but this will be a challenge for me to reproduce in the studio.
Anyhow's I'm also going to try "somebody super like you" from Brian De Palma's Phantom of the paradise.

You owe me. Because you made me listen to Herb Alpert songs. And because you knew it was Herb Alpert and didn't warn anyone. If it wasn't for Herb Alpert's fondness for foxes, my day would be well into the negative right now.

Well done, way!

Off topic, but though I've only sung 3 times in the 20-ish years since I last was in a band, I think a hellacious [I mean that literally-ish, moments of WOW interspersed with moments of pain] time would be had by all Zom, you and me a little [or a lot] less than sober having a Karaoke showdown [with interludes of Doc Gam...never heard him, but he does have a vocal performance degree, so might give everyone soothing moments between us battling it out].
BTW--none of the places I did it had vocal effects like that serious delay, or anything else, and certainly no video to take home...what the hell is that place?

wayfriend: acknowledged Captain. I didn't warn anybody cause it could have likely been Bert Kaempfer!
