Greetings Programs.

I'd like to propose the Kevinswatch 1st centenial 11-11-11 at 11:11 celebration post in.

Every century we celebrate 11-11-11 at 11:11am and 11:11pm beginning this November 11th at 11am through 11pm.

Sure we missed the boat in 1911 but we're not about to blow it again. If we miss the mark this time we'll all have to wait until 2111 and I don't think any of us are going to be patient enough for that.

There should be a white gold dollar exchange, good wishes exchanged and we create video greetings and post them either here or on the Kevinswatch Facebook group.
I'm sure there are more possibilities so I encourage you to make suggestions.

I look forward to the big event and I hope you all join me.

Happy 11-11-11 at 11:11 folks!

Tom :-)

I'm in!

Do we start celebrating along with our kiwi Watchers and end with our Hawaiian ones? I think NZ is currently 16 hours ahead of EDT? And Hawaiian time is 6 hours behind EDT? Something like that? So those of us on the east coast of the US would start celebrating at 7:11 pm on the 10th and finish celebrating at 5:11 am on the 12th? I think?

Of course, if there are any Watchers who live further east in to the future than NZ, and further west in to the past than Hawaii, we can always accommodate their time zones as well.

Sorry, as that's both Veterans' Day and my son's birthday, I'm already booked. Be sure to take some pictures for me, though.

When is the official timing for 11:11 on 11/11?

As Syl points out (although in other words), this is really a veiled remembrance of Armistice Day.

Even all of that aside, I know for a fact that other Watchers besides Syl have prior RL commitments for that day.

I understand the other commitments of that day.
For most of us I only expected a to see quick celebretory posts, not full day involvement. I figure if you can remember the moment with a quick "wahoo!" it's all good. Whatever else I'm doing that day I think I can arrange to have the laptop nearby to keep up on events.
I wholeheartedly agree that Veterans Day comes first.

11:11 in which time zone? ;)

I'm guessing the time zone is relative but I suppose EDT is appropriate.

Menolly! Oz is two hours behind NZ! So we win...or does Av win. Av, I'll hang with you! We'll celebrate before everyone else does! ;)

An international site should use the Universal Standard... which just so happens to coincide with Greenwich Mean Time, hurrah.

Oh, that's true...

Beorn and I will be at the anniversary celebration of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, thanks to me winning the sweepstakes from Universal Orlando on Facebook. I doubt I'll even notice the time at all while there.

Behind?
Or ahead in to the future, Sea?
My geography is terrible.

As DPJ mentioned above, DST will end here in the states the Sunday before, whereas I think it begins the same day in NZ. So instead of being 16 hours in to the future compared to EST, I believe NZ will be 18 hours in to the future compared to EST (since we "fall back" and they "spring ahead.") Will OZ be 20 hours in to the future compared to EST at that point?

If so, then those of us here on the east coast of the states would start celebrating at 5:11 pm on the 10th and wrap it up at 5:11 am on the 12th. A full 32 hour celebration! (that is, if I have figured this all out right)

Appropriately enough, I'm somewhere in the middle I think. I'm ahead of the US, but behind Australasia. GMT+2 as a matter of fact.

Personally, I'm with Murrin. My settings display Watch time as GMT anyway.

 Oh sorry, Menolly. My bad. We are in the future, and NZ is more in the future than we in Oz are.
