Those Breaking Bad people were too loud in the adjoining room. :-) The camera guys did clean up the sound a LOT from the original tapes. But there are still some very quiet questions. I tried to capture the essense of each question in the description, though.

Maybe parabolic microphones next time in case it's loud again?

Yeah, the conditions this time were not exactly optimal. I'd suggest a lavalier mic for SRD and a second mic for the questions. But even with noise-cancelling mics, you're still gonna have a problem, as noisy as that venue was.

So the real answer is to find another venue next time, which I think danlo said he is going to do.

for some reason i'm unable to view. i clicked srd's opening remarks clip and started to watch it, it came up very slowly but then seemed to stream just fine. i didn't watch the whole thing as it wasn't the clip i was looking for so i stopped it and went back to look for more clips. when i clicked on the next one i wanted to view i got error messages that said i didn't have the software to view. or something like that. grrrrrr. couldn't find it on itunes either. how do i look there?

and what i was really interested in hearing again was his comments on seareach. i want to hear that again.

help preese.

Well, it's a WMV file so if you have windows it should be playing in windows Media Player. If not then you'd have to tell us what program you are trying to play it in.

I just peeked at the last video, low res, and had no issues.

I can't comprehend the question on Elena. But, his answer regarding his father may be the best Q&A ever.

Yeah, we all kind of looked at each other in shock after he shared the info about his father.

well, he's a story teller who we all like and he knows it. i think he's just seen enough of our faces at this point to feel like he was in a room with a bunch of old friends. least ways that's how he came off to me. i was UBER surprised and pleased.

way i have no clue what player its trying to get me to use when i click the link.

Heh...until someone zoomed the camera in at some point, I was amazed at the fact that the woman at the table behind him could sit still for so long...then I was all "duuuuhhh! it ain't a real person!"

Ever think about making these avi or something universal and using jquery with something like thickbox for an overlay? Well, that may not work very well on a mobile device, but a cms like drupal has a lot of prebuilt and nifty functions that would work on both and allow an integrated approach. On a sidenote, the site really could use a graphic designers touch!

Still looking forward to seeing these when I am at my imac and have time to spend watching (decided against that app. Don't want to encourage wmv formats!!!). :P

I didn't understand most of that, but I concur that avi would be ideal. Waiting for WMP to buffer can be a pain. Not that we can really complain. Thanks to all who helped bring this to us who weren't there. 8)

I didn't realize so many people had problems with WMV - I don't remember any problems four years ago. Maybe because this time I was able to use WMV-9, and it wasn't available last time? When I get home tomorrow I'll add a more universal format. MP4? The vodcast has larger MP4 files, but I can downsize it to reduce the file size.

When the site was first built, I had Steve look over several dozen (a hundred or two?) templates that I had on four "interface" cds I purchased a few years before. They were single image graphics that I then cut apart and put back together. And this is the one he picked. If he wants an update, I'd be happy to oblige. But I'm no graphic artist - I have to get my graphics elsewhere, and then I can manipulate them as needed. :-)
