Anyone watching? I'm sure our Mass watchers are denying they even know what MLB is. I may join you soon if the Phils' aces continue to pitch like Sox starters. And why did Charlie let Lee come out in the 7th? Glaring boneheaded mistake there.
LaRussa's whining led to some nice calls for Cards. An indispensable talent for a manager or coach.
Nice work by the Tigers as well. I thought losing Fister vs Nova was it for them.

other than new hampshire natives sam fuld and chris carpenter i have no rooting interest. if either makes it to the world series i will root for them.

Unfortunately, the only 2 teams I care for decided that they wanted to collapse at the end of the season and lose their wild card spot.

Rooting for the Brew Crew. Though I haven't watched much of the games so far.

of course i am rooting against the yankees - oddly enough one of the greatest new hampshire players ever was very successful with the yankees. (red rolfe)

if i have to root it would be for sam fuld and the tampa bay devil rays. i have always liked him as a player and rooted for him to get a shot when he was with the cubs and now the rays. i hoped against hope that he would find his way to the red sox.

sam always goes full out, and has great range and the ability to make the "did-you see-that?!?!" play at any given time.

TheRegan, Sox and Braves? You poor soul.
Nice win by Tigers. Yanks in trouble tonite w/Burnett. But who knows what Porcello will do. I feared Tigers and Rangers coming into playoffs, both up 2-1.
Big game for Phils tonite, must win.
Sabathia and Lee are 2 aces who have struggled in playoffs recently.

Yankees fans are the most pessimistic people I know. They were all convinced it was all over. I'm surrounded by these people. What in their history gives them a basis for such pessimism? Is it b/c they haven't won the title ever year?
Nervous win for the Phils. All runs off 1 homer, but, its enough. That's what all the pitching is for.

AJ was not good, but Granderson made up for it. Thank goodness. And nice to see them hitting the ball. We'll see what happens in the rematch tomorrow.
After the Yankees, I'm rooting for the Phillies.
And the pessimism comes from the same place the rest of you find your hate. Salary. They're paying the best players in MLB how much, and they're not winning at least 2 out of 3 games all year long??? IMO, every game's starters should be fined $1,000 every time they don't score at least three runs. And $5k if they get shut out. Ridiculous.

have you ever met Red Sox nation?

Yes, New England is my 2nd home, my dad grew up in Maine and met my mom in Boston. My sister and husband lived in Quincy for 3 years.
I have experience there. But when you don't win for 80 years, is it pessimism to assume you won't win this year? Seems like realism to me. When you've won 27 times, including 2 years ago, seems more like pessimism.

Maybe you're right fist.
I watched a bit of the 4th, when Girardi was already shuffling pitchers in. Didn't get quite as bad as I thought it may, but even Yankee fans are tiring of his pitcher management. Bad enough Yankee's games take so long b/c of their strong lineup (and seeing a lot of pitches), but to add to it regularly seeing 5+ pitching changes, gets ridiculous.
Come on Phils, let's see some hitting throughout the game. Not just 1 or 2 innings.

I think Ryan Howard is wetting himself right now. He'll be the final out to end their easy World Series run.

The best two records in baseball this year are gone. I'm not surprised about the Yankees, but I'm AMAZED that the Phils are gone!!

the Phillies eliminated, the Eagles likmping, the Sixers meaningless, I guess Philly is waiting for the Flyers to do something?

The choke job, for 2nd year in a row, of the Phillies is unbelievable. Its nail in the coffin for me, I'm done with them. 2 years in a row I knew they were winning it all. And they do worse this year than last. I guess they're glad they swept the Braves to end the season.
Ryan Howard is locked up for a few years, and he's a black hole in the playoffs. Good move there.
