As for right now this belongs here. Music and TC books.

Since I can see probabilities, but not really presentience, as the Waynhim do, this topic belongs here but could also be the starting place for something much much more indepth.

With that out of the way, I am currently working my way through AATE. I am finding that I missed out on something when I read the first two series the first two times. The first time I read the Covenant series(s) I was 13 now I am almost 30. Unfortunately the musicians that I now have the benefit of weren't around then.

The musicians that astonished me while reading were Andy McKee and Ewan Dobson. McKee acousting minstrations fit with the story as a whole. I am reading AATE on my iPhone via the Kindle app, since I have a vast amount of music on my phone I will occasionally put the headphones in and add some tunes to my reading.

Just as James Keenan Maynard and Tool (most notably the album Lateralus) have an odd mesh with the thematic expanse of The Gap Series. So too does Andy McKee with the Land in general. His particular style on the guitar is beautiful simple yet complex. His skill is capable of making even such greats as Eric Clapton seem so crude as to be nearly an obscenity. My praise is not too high either.

Ewan Dobson on the other hand encompasses only one segment of the Land. The Haruchai, Dobson's melodies are simple enough that he will never take a turn that catches you off guard. However underneath that simplicity of purpose there is a complexity that astounds, and it is portrayed with (SRD's favorite word) preternatural physical prowess.

The tangle of relationships between these musicians and these stories, though unintentional, deserve more thought, and input also more artists to explore.

Sounds like you've thought this through.
Please come share your ideas in the TC Music...Soundtrack? thread over in the TC Movie Discussion forum. I think that forum is a lot more active, and you may kick start some further discussion on the topic. :)
