Did Vader lose his cool?

Do you think that Vader turned a bit crappy in the third film? (ROTJ) A few people have expressed this view, so I just thought I'd make a topic on it.

Yes he did seem to soften like a aging prize fighter with a beer belly.

Well the man WAS getting old for cripes sake (another reason why I don't buy the Anakin as a 10 yr old kid when he first trains for the jedis shickt) and he probably hadn't gotten around to his annual oil change...being so busy chasing his kid across the galaxy and all...

Yeah, I wonder how old he was. If Luke was 17 when ANH started, he couldn't have been over 20 by ROTJ, could he? Vader must have been about that age when he got Padme pregnant. So, Vader must have been only in his early 40's. He sure didn't look that young when the helmet came off, though.

Well, if he was allegedly around the same age as Obi-Wan at the time of the first trilogy, that would make him...what? In his 50s/60s?

Not necessarily. Obi-wan is clearly older than Vader. Maybe 10-15 years older. Also, Vader had no father, so who knows what the aging process is like for him. In fact, we assume that Vader and Obi-Wan are of the same race, but we only have visual evidence of that. Perhaps neither have the life span me earhtlings do. Though it does look like 40 years have passed between episode II & IV, perhaps we'll be treated to a logical chronological explanation in episode III. I'm still optimistic that Lucas will do episode III right. Maybe I'm just an idiot; previous experience indicates that Ewoks will kill all the Jedi in episode III.

Yes I agree, Obi-Wan is "Clearlty" older than Anakin, about 15 years at most.

Did Vader have a cooling system in his suit? If so, he probably lost it when the emporer shorted out everything else.
