Acoustic Strings

This may sound silly, but does anyone have any recommendations for their favorite acoustic strings? I think I've been using the D'addario PB's and they seem to be pretty decent. I'm just wondering if there's anything better out there for the same price range.
My mom bought me some recording equipment, so I want the acoustic to sound as good as it can before I start recording anything.
Also, I feel as if I've asked this before.

I usually use D'addario or Ernie Ball.
To me, the tone difference is more noticeable for weight than price...in fact, I tend to mix sets...using [from D'Addario] the bottom 3 [sometimes 4] from their Bronze Medium set, the top from the same, but Light set ...
BUT, I'm merely a strummer, I do almost no finger picking/arpeggiating. If you're a real player and do that the tone difference between weights might bug you.
But, closer to your question, the only real difference I personally have noticed for pricier strings is they tend to last longer...AFAICT, people preferences are more just a matter of taste in tones. Lots of pros use just the basic D'Addarios and other reasonable price brands.
If you are a fan of the sound of nylon strings [i'm not] I recommend La Bella Super Folksinger...haven't used any in a while [quite a while, actually], top 3 nylon, bottom 3 bronze? [IIRC] roundwound. I just searched, and you can order them for 10-12 bucks, looks like.

I've used Elixirs for some time now, they are more expensive, but the "not quite new but nearly new" tone hangs around for up to a few months. I lik ethe sound of strings tha are fully played in, I find brand new strings to have too much of a metallic ring.
I seldom get breaks with Elixirs and as long as you replace the top E and B to keep them fresh time to time, they really perform.

OPTIMA Gold Strings (previously known as MAXINMA).
They last long and sound brilliant.
