I am a huge fan of this TV series on Fox, although I've only seen the first 2 seasons (don't have alot of time for season 3.)

Any other fans?

My whole family, especially Foamy and her brother Shlomo, is addicted to this series. I am the least addicted, and don't watch every show, but Foamy keeps me updated on what is happening in the episodes. ;)

I'll elaborate. You just can't survive all that stuff happening all the time. Sorry. You'll get cancer, you'll have a massive coronary; you'll actually not get the first shot off one time and get killed. It's too intense ALL the freaking time to be in the least bit beleivable. ER is the same way. I'd have to take serious medication if I ever allowed myself to "get into" either of those programs. Fortunately, they're both written to appeal to one's emotions, not logic; therefore they are easily ignored. Gimme Police Squad, M*A*S*H and Scrubs any day.

It's totally not realistic. I mean, I'll watch some shows where these things won't happen in real life, but all the stuff happening on 24 just doesn't make sense. Nuclear weapon one epsisode, and then the next is some bioweapon.

BTW, sorry. Really should have explained this in my original post.

Funny you should say that, seeing as in the second season one character dies of radiation poisoning and it finished with the central character actually having had a heart attack. There aren't actually many gunfights and when there are, it's easy to believe that Jack comes out on top, because he's ex-special forces.

Also bear in mind that the three series' take place over a period of four and a half years. It isn't like Jack Bauer has 'another one of those days' every few weeks.

True, disbelief isn't quite suspended sometimes, but Kim is usually at the centre of events when this happens. It can feel like the writing is being stretched a little thin in order to give the actress something to do.

Admittedly 24 lacks the quality of drama shown by shows like Six Feet Under and The Sopranos, but then it's a very different kind of show, and a concept that is unique. I think the final episode of the first season is the finest television I've ever seen.

It's not the least bit realistic and I LOVE it! If I wanted reality TV, I'd watch Joe Millionaire and that crap.

There's a difference between realistic TV and reality TV

I agree and "reality TV" isn't the least bit realistic either!

Yeah, reality TV is the worst. So awful to watch.

I know it's a really old post, but why don't you like season 3? IMO it knocks season 2 into a cocked hat (no, I don't really know what that saying means). I'd say it's on a par with the first series, the writing is really good.

OK, I have to admit - I just can't stand watching regularly scheduled TV programs. I always have something else to do, or something else on TV that I'd rather watch. So for the TV series that I really like (i.e. 24 or West Wing) I wait for the whole season to come out on DVD. Then I can watch as much as I want to when I want to, without those damn commercials.

So I haven't watch a single episode of Season 3, but I will as soon as it's out on DVD.
