Is this a rhetorical question, or one interested in dialogue?
(it's definitely one I've thought about much and I'd love to respond to)

And if so, here? Or is there a more appropriate place?

Because seriously, it's gonna be really difficult for me to come up with a funny and non-jerkish mis-quote to respond to it!! ;)
Have at it, Linna. I am looking forward to what you have to say on this topic, here where it need not be funny to be posted.

Ananda- well, my own post contradicted ME, now didn't it... ;)

Hmm, maybe some serious topics do need the humor to break them up...

Well, SD, this will take awhile but here's a start:

I think people are only responsible for what they do with what they've been given so far.

Sometimes people may have WILDLY different goals from yours or mine; but they may actually have a point.

It can't be insensitive to be wrong. It can be the other way round though.

It can also be insensitive to be right. :D

:Hail: :goodpost:

However, I think it can be insensitive to be wrong, if you know you're wrong.

Or was the intent, that a person be "innocently" wrong? Just to complicate things further...

My intent... even worse, for complicating things!
I've got the idea that a person can be "innocently" insensitive!

By that, do I mean completely innocent? Of course not!

But I believe that a person can behave insensitively...
...and be far MORE innocent than I would have been if I'd behaved that way.
Because that person doesn't know what I know.
And because that person does know what he or she knows.

Oh, believe me, that much I knew! 'Tis a particular failing of mine, since I tend to be kind of OCD (or maybe "on the spectrum") about certain matters. Many are the people who have tried to make this point to me, with Dam-sel leading that pack.

Someday, maybe it will completely register...but I am not holding my breath.

I’m just loaded with that.
In this one word is the epitomy of the aristocrat
Sensitive soul, and sensitive stomach, sensitive hands and feet;
This is the blessing, also the curse of being the true elite.
Common people don’t know what exquisite agony is,
Suffered by gentle people like me!

Yes, I meant being innocently wrong can't be insensitive. At least, not intentionally insensitive.

But...is any insensitivity intentional? If it is intentional, is it still insensitivity? or something else?

The trouble is, sometimes when you're right, it is actually good to help another person see the same truth you see.

How do we figure out what is best?

Vraith- Yes, that is a point.
Some kinds of "sensitivity" are... just not very helpful at all to anyone, are they?
