Hey Jel, just curious, you a fan of Down, Crowbar, CoC?

I have always been a fan of Crowbar.

Back in 1984, I worked with Kirk Windstein's father. He told me about his son being in a local metal band, Victorian Blitz. I went to check them out and was blown away. At that time I was also introduced to Razor White, which Phil Anselmo (Panera) was the front man of. I got to know the guys pretty well, both Victorian Blitz and Razor White used to play many shows together around here.

After Victorian Blitz, Kirk got involved in another local band, one that two of my childhood friends were in...Shell Shock. Sadly, my friend Mike Hatch (founder of Shell Shock) decided to take his own life, but the band lived on. They re-emerged in the local scene as AfterShock.

It was after AfterShock that Crowbar was formed So I kind of got to watch the formation of Crowbar metamorph all the way from it's beginning.

CoC and Down...I am indifferent either way, not strongly opionionated on either of them one way or the other, though.

I'm a big fan of all three bands, who are obviously closely associated as 3 of the members of Down are or were in Crowbar including Kirk. I consider NOLA to be one of the finest metal records ever though I am less sold on Down's later stuff.

Anyway, that is a really cool story bro. My question was kind of a guess based on your Pandora tastes and the fact that you're from NOLA. Couldn't have imagined how tied in you were to the scene, though!
