Now that there is a clearly deserving winner...
(No, Syl, I am not appropriating your right to choose. Never. Just lauding u's effort!)
Given that Menolly pulled my name and image into this, I guess I need to step up. Syl really does deserve a few words from me after the way he treated me.
What are those words, you ask?
Now, that's creepy!
Happy Birthday, Syl...and many more!
(for the record, Menolly was never to blame for what I had to say, even though she unstintingly defended it. Yes, I am a character she and Fist created for the Aesir world a couple years ago...but she was never the ventriloquist putting voice to me. I am an alt of someone else...)

There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say
But you can learn how to play the game
It's easy.
All you need is Love

You may have been given voice in the Aesir comments thread by another, but everything you said and did was based upon my play, both in submissions and the game thread. But yeah, while I was taken aback by the response you received, I had no problem defending what you had to say, as it was all my vision for the society you lived in, regardless of how others saw it.

...but of course!
I freely admit that all of my posts were based on your play of the g-ddess Agapé in Aesir. How could it be otherwise? To have been other than in-character would be poor form, nu?
If anything, I am flattered that my play of your character was seemless enough that none detected the difference...except Fist, of course. A story best left alone, that one.
Where are our manners, player of the BeLoved and Divine Agapé? We should be focused on manifesting Love in honor of the birthday of he who is LawKeeper and Autarch...as well as first deity of Nature on Narie!

For the last whatever years I thought you were called [sly] - that and the picure (and the brackets [] crap) made me think of Sylvester Stalone who is a dork so I never bothered with any of your posts......... so I couldn't possibly make any contribution here.

Thank you, all. Well, I suppose the winner is Uss. I thought it was going to be Ron there for a while, but...
Now, as tradition demands... *clears throat*
Ali, that's the kind of weak-wristed insult I'd expect from a leftist of your ilk. You came close on the Martin bit, but I think your failure to follow through probably stems from the fact that, as a real writer, you pretty much know everything I said about him was true. Of course, since I said it, that goes without saying.
Deer, I don't see how such a pretty little mouth could say such nasty things, but I like it.
Ananda, I have to give you props. Not for the insult, of course, but because you're from a socialist country that has continually benefited from American largess and far be it for me to break the tradition of giving you things you don't deserve.
Damelon, the day I take lessons on generosity from a man who chooses a Scottish icon (played by an Irishman) as an avatar is the day I eat haggis. What, Scrooge McDuck wasn't serious enough for you?
Foul, your word and 50 cents would just about buy me a cup of coffee. That is, it would if I stood outside the coffee shop begging change for a couple hours. Speaking of which, does that English degree help you write more compelling cardboard signs?
Menolly and Caelyn, if this was a contest about creeping me out, you would've won hands down.
Yes, Ron, I am a big man and I have a big gun. I notice you didn't show my avatar from the adult sites I visit. I mean, I know you've seen it, judging from the private messages you (Sex Nihilatio) sent me (it's always the conservative types soliciting it behind closed doors). I can see why you didn't, though, since that one truly is intimidating.
Null... oh, man. I'm glad you stuck to your normal style, because being insulted by a clown would be both horrifying and more shame than I could probably bear.
Uss, I have found the monitoring devices you planted in my office, and considering I work in a Federal building, the secret service should be calling you shortly. I will wait for your prison letters with red pen in hand. Before they haul you off to Gitmo, though, allow me to share with you some of the corrections I made to your writing. I have sent you the document with track changes. Please, remember that parenthetical statements go inside the punctuation. Of course, I left out some of the most glaring errors so that my mates and I can have something to laugh at.
Av, it's no surprise that you're late and underwhelming. You probably would have had more impressive turn submissions 15 years ago, too. Of course, if you'd lay off the reefer for a few days, I think you'd be surprised at what you could accomplish.
Peter, don't feel bad; for the longest time, I thought you went by "Penis."
Thanks, all. I award you all 5000 internets as a token of my love and esteem (yes, even you, Null ). Here's to another 10... when we'll still be typing things out on this outdated php board when everywhere else is connecting to the net at the speed of thought with direct neural interfaces.

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Belated Happy Birthday, [Syl]!
Thanks for the WGDs. Didn't do it for the dollars though. I did it because someone with a style as distinctive as yours deserves to be honoured, in whatever manner.
I'm looking forward to receiving the corrections to my post (and tracking changes ). It would seem nicely meta to have [Syl] correcting [[Syl]]. (I even missed a couple of words and phrases that I meant to include, like: 'negatory' and 'internet badass'. Next time!)
I look forward to reading your future posts. As you are coming into your prime they can only get even better
u.

Congrats, Syl, on being 5 years from becoming a senior citizen by Roman Empire standards.

Thanks, Uss. I really appreciate everyone's effort. As a former navy guy, I kind of believe that if people aren't giving you crap, that's when you worry.
Heh. I'm also an English major, Foul, so... And yes, that was nifty.

I actually didn't realize this was a roast when I first read it. I blame the Sam Adams I was enjoying. And yep...if we're all being nice to you that's about time when the knife slides in your back. Now where is my whet stone...
