for those who buy monthly, what is on your pull list?
DC Comics
Batman, Incorporated
Dial H
Justice League Dark
Animal Man
Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E
Demon Knights
Suicide Squad
All-Star Western
Night Force (limited series)
the Shade (limited series)
Fables
Marvel
Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers
Scarlet Spider
Supercrooks [limited series]
I am considering the latest Marvel Zombies limited series because they have some very obscure Marvel golden-age characters and Howard the Duck. I will read the first issue at the store and make a decision.
I am very happy with all these except possibly Demon Knights, but I really like the characters, so I keep putting off a decision on the title. I would add a Doom Patrol title if DC offered one.
I looked at the DC Earth-Two stuff and voted against. though I will be looking at the Phantom Lady/Doll Man miniseries. seems I missed the Ray mini. I will look at half price for those back issues.
Thunderbolts is becoming the Dark Avengers. I will give it three or so months to decide on keeping or dropping. I keep loving each variation of the Thunderbolts. so hopefully they keep up with some quality work.

DC: Batman & Robin. I used to have several others, but the latest reboot made me kinda mad, so I gave them the boot.
Marvel: Amazing Spiderman, Astonishing X-Men, Daredevil, Dark Tower, Defenders, Ex-Factor, Fantastic Four, FF, Iron Man, New Avengers, Uncanny X-Men.

the only Marvel growing up at my local convienence store were Avengers, Marvel Two-In-One and Power Man & Iron Fist. so I grew up with mostly DC.

No, our stores had plenty DC; Marvel was less consistent, especially the X-men before #123 (the 1st ones I bought were 104-106, then they disappeared until 123). When I was a kid, aTOMiC's older brother moved out, leaving him with about 300 comics, and several albums. Being aTOMiC's best friend, naturally he split the comics with me and I think I ended up with more DC than I did Marvel. It didn't take very long at all to realize I preferred the Marvel stuff over the DC stuff, so I traded off the DC (including a few Neil Adam's Batman issues) to get more Marvel. Swamp Thing was awesome, and just about the only DC book I'd buy until the New Teen Titans, and later the DC reboot in '86; at that point I was getting more DC than Marvel, but since then I've been getting about the same amount of each brand until this last reboot.

300! wish i had anyone who give me that many.
I could get the Marvel, at a store about 30 minutes from us. but it wasn't a steady thing. I never even saw an X-Men until the Days of Future Past storyline.
the team books were my favorite, JLA and Avengers.
finally when i was in high school a comic book shop opened in town.
we had a local shop here, but he shut down. so i have to go to Houston for my books. Bedrock is excellent.

300 wasn't the impressive part. The impressive part was one of them was X-Men Giant-Size #1.

It wasn't worth anything in '76, and by the time it was worth something, it was long gone. My parents never gave away my collection, but I've sold off all or part of if several times, only to rebuild it later on.

i wish i still had those comics. i had good runs of Freedom Fighters, Avengers, Justice League, All-Star Squadron, Power Man & Iron Fist, Batman, Detective, DC Comics Present, Invaders...
an ex-gf gave away stuff i collected in the 90's. have replaced a lot of that. Suicide Squad, Morrison's Doom Patrol, his Animal Man.
i am hooked for life. i just love the medium.
because of my understanding wife I now own more comics than I ever have. her an dhalf price of course. and hastings.

The ones I had that I miss are the early FF (I had 50-99 and a few earlier ones), the early DD (I had all of them but 1 & 3 at one time), The Claremont/Byrne X-men (had them all, once), and the early Spider-man (at one time or another, I had most of them from 13 on up), and the five issues of Iron Man I don't have (but did once).

harder to buy back issues on the cheap from yardsales. everyone gets online and figures out the worth of their stuff.
i've never been to a convention. and most of the stuff i find in the dollar bin is there for good reason.

You've never been to a convention? I've been to a few, mostly back in the '80's. These days, I find ebay to be a much more efficient way of getting comics I can't find locally, but back then, Comic Cons were very necessary.

I forgot that I went once. but it was way small, back in Concord, New Hampshire.
I met Val Seimeks there. he autographed some stuff for me and we chatted about Kirby for a good fifteen minutes. really nice guy. I believe Val was doing the Demon at the time.
but it was very small, in the lobby of the Ramada.
when I get some spare cash I'll try for some Freedom Fighters and Invaders. I really want a run of the JLA. I loved those the most as a kid. and the LSH.
loved the team books the most, felt I was getting more for my money.

I added all the "before Watchmen" titles to my list, and so far, they've all been great.

I have been enjoying the Minutemen. I was hoping half price would have some of the others.
