I've never 'read' the book before Sarge and of course Walken does it in his usual inimitable style. I have seen the recent (2years ago?) film adaption by Spike Lee (I think), and it was very very good. The story does survive 'stringing out' into a two hour film very well and allows a degree of empathy to be built up with the boy and the wild things that is almost painful to bear when things start to go wrong.
Sendaneks little story is undoubtedly one of the 'classics' of the future - a gift from our time to the time of those to come.

while I would love to see a Spike Lee adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are, it was Spike Jonze who directed the movie.

Is/was Spike Lee a movie Director as well (indeed is there such a person as 'spike lee' at all, celebrity wise.)
re WTWTA - yes Sarge; do, do, do see this film!

Yes, there's a movie director named Spike Lee, too. You're not totally crazy, peter.
