I have just finished the first season of "Haven" a sort of supernatural Fringey type offering. It's OK but I noticed similarities in the scenery to the Jesse Stone TV movies and it seems both are filmed in the southern part of Nova Scotia around some breathtaking scenery.

I like the Jesse Stone stuff too, with a matured and laid back approach in the part of Jesse, portrayed by Tom Sellick. It has some not too obvious plots and sub plots, and makes up for any that are, with the backdrop of Nova Scotia and a haunting soundtrack making the very best out of a Frijian Dominant I think.

It seems Nova Scotia has a pretty good industry going and I must confess I am attracted to it and may add it to the holiday list. No doubt I'm seeing all the good days where the fog has cleared and its not -20 degrees, but the waterfront looks idyllic for a warm coat and some fishing tackle.

I spent a month camping in Nova Scotia. Amazing place. I remember stopping at a church dinner in a town in Meat Cove. We got a 5 dollar plate of crabs. So they give us the crabs on a plate with a butter knife. I sat there staring at the plate for about 5 minutes. I had no idea how to eat crab with a butter knife. Finally some town folk took pity on us and showed us how to open crab with a knife. They don't use crackers. We were a great source of amusement for them and I'm sure a topic for weeks to come.

The landscape is really amazing. People are nice once they loosen up and Halifax is a really nice city. Now you've got me wanting to go back.

Halifax is great. Charming city with charming people (even the bums are nice. of course, they should be, since they're all well-dressed college-age kids).

I saw part of Nova Scotia when the Dual Survival guys did a show from there. It looked inhospitable, but hey, it was March, after all.

It rarely gets -20 degrees here anymore.
The film industry has taken a huge boom in Nova Scotia in the last number of years,

We still though, have a hard time believing it.
Just last month Jason Preistly was in town filing a show; and the news was everywhere!!

Jason Preistly!??!?
