The marketing machine is gearing up for Rowling's The Casual Vacancy, which is due out sometime this fall.

Thoughts? Anybody plan to read it? I'm on the fence. She's not such a terrific writer that I'm going to rush out and buy the book without reading a few reviews first.

Adult meaning not geared towards kids or is it going to be 50 Shades of Harry Potter.......which would probably sell more than all the others combined!

Her writing seemed to improve over the course of the HP series. However, as with most books people can be fairly petulant about an author's success.

Aside: My neighbor bought the 50 Shades books, making it so I could read them without spending money. I found that approximately half of the complaints about them were not valid.

I, on the other hand, could not stand her writing style.

Not going to lie, sounds very generic. Probably won't read it unless forced to.

HLT, supposedly the new Rowling book is geared for adult readers.

Hopefully the same day, if I did everything right this time. Within a day or two of the e-book release, anyhow. I'll let everybody know. :)

Oh, when I get around to it, I'll probably just move it.

What's the harm in more money?

I'll get round to reading it, but I won't be rushing out to buy it. Interested to see how her writing holds up outside the Potter universe though.

Hmm, is it a Rowling forum or an HP forum? I guess I assumed it was only an HP forum. Anyhow, do with this what you will, Orlion.

Thanks Orlion.

And as far as I know, it's a Rowling forum, ali.
It's just until this new book is released, Jo's work has only been in the HP setting, eh?
