when a juggalo calls you mainstream

spotted a troll while waking from a morning haze. it is a hell of a thing when someone calls you mainstream without even knowing who you are because you belittle their trendy (actually nine years past that point) subculture. Then they call me ignorant! they may as well have been speaking to Salvador Dali! Yeah I'm so trendy. None of my music or art is nearly as original as ICP! I'm so depressed. Why couldn't I have been born a bronzed shakespere with the body of a greek god like violent J or L or whatever his fucking letter is? Oh boo hoo! I've always wanted ten million dollars a year, a record label full of imitators and an entire subculture hanging on to my trend years after everybody is too bored with them to even laugh at them! Damn! What a failure I am! Must be because I'm "ignorant" and don't know what being underground is all about! I wish I had Lisa Suckdog's shoulder to cry on! Oh the pain! I simply must contact Justin Bieber's producer and find out what I can do to be less mainstream than ICP!

heh...I had a similarly stupifying, in it's own way, encounter not too long ago...[I don't think I've put this on the watch, though I mentioned it on facebook maybe]
I have [and LOVE...so comfy] those Five-finger shoes. A couple actually stopped me on a fairly busy sidewalk to "ask" about them [though really, it turns out, to point, laugh and comment loudly and snottily about the look and my fashion sense]...
Now, I understand the things are a bit unusual/funny looking. BUT...BOTH of these "superior specimens" were wearing compression shorts [those skin-tight things athletes wear] and shirts that exposed their bellies in flashes...and for both of them their waist-line measurements were at least as great as their heights.
It's a funny world.

I had a similar situation, quite some time ago though - I like clothes that at least don't hinder, in that particular case, I had some sports clothes and high boots on. A woman asked me if she could give me some clothes as a gift, because she thought someone wearing such a combination surely had nothing else to choose from. I suspected it was a veiled insult, though maybe really that bent on fashion, anyway, I replied with just politely informing her I had no problems with what to choose from) I find such things mostly funny, the things some people worry about

LZ, worry not, I tend to take negative comments from people who lack understanding as the opposite, or just nothing. It's like worrying about your knowledge of mathematics because of a broken calculator that says that 2*2=8345

well I made an amusing video about it. which I will be posting shortly. There is a rapidly scrolling list of cool non mainstream artists that this idiot has never heard of. You probably won't catch it cause I MEANT it to be really long and scroll really fast, but I mentioned Stephen R. Donaldson on it!

yeah... I got that "almost one hundred years old" from an Eddie Murphy skit. I forgot what he said but it was "100 years old! Almost as old as the President!"
