Kevin's Watch

Wow - Something weird is going on. When I click on the 'Home' link under the Kevins Watch picture (you know the one - it's probably at the top of the page your'e reading now) I get moved to a blue colored page offering me van rentals and stuff. WTF? Is this just happening to me or is every body getting it? Is the Watch sharing it's domain with a group selling van rental and erectile dysfunction cures or something. Do I have a virus or something. I know shit about computers - can anyone explain what is going on?

Ah so I'm not the only one!!! I just contacted Avatar about this who, I hope, will contact Vain (who own the board) to rectify the problem.

Thanks Danlo - The 'inviolate nature' of the Watch has been part of my life for so many moons now that this event sent a shiver down my spine. Sorry you've got it too but there is comfort in not being alone with this weird 'happening'

It's been flagged up - the www.kevinswatch.com domain name expired.

hold a pledge drive buy the name back.

Relax guys. It's fixed. According to Jay, it was the domain hosts who reset the redirect. It wasn't up for sale, that's just the hosts default page for domains that don't have anything on them.

This might be a good place to remind people about the back-up forum.

That's the place to go check in case anything does ever happen to the Watch. Gods forfend.

Normal service is resumed! It was quite a shock to my system when that page that just had the 1st and 2nd Chrons forum stuff on it dissapeared (what did happen to that page by the way) but this one nearly sent me into meltdown. wtf is happening to me guys! (rhetorical question that) That link takes me to a weird place Av. What do you do - just go there and follow the link back to the Watch?

Uh, no. It's a small forum on a different host. What you do is you register as a member.

If the Watch goes down, that's where we talk about it and give updates etc.

Ok. Has KW ever gone into that serious a meltdown then - it's never happened in the what four/five years I've been coming here.

Couple of mediocre ones with a a few days down-time.

And of course the infamous Hack of...uh...I don't remember the year, when we lost a month's worth of posts.
