Hi guys,

Wanted to start a thread where Australian KW members can post and let us know they're safe, especially in Tassie and regional areas of the country.

Some pretty scary conditions here at the moment.

Personally, in the NSW Illawarra, got a text at 11pm last night from rural fire service, warning conditions today would be 'catastrophic' and be prepared to leave if necessary. Luckily, where we are was ok but other areas of the state still in danger.

I asked Stevie if he was OK on Facebook but haven't had any reply. The news said the fires were 55k from Hobart.

Hi Io, yeah I was wondering about the G man. I can't remember exactly where he lives, if it was in Hobart proper or the outskirts. Also, summer holidays here, he could be elsewhere for them. Let us know if/when you hear a reply.

It's not great - homes destroyed and many uncontrolled bushfires still burning. There will be lots of stories to tell...

Hey Shaun, hope things are getting better!! Small world, a friend of mine from the US lived in Illawara for a number of years with the Twelve Tribes cult (which she's now left and lives elsewhere Down Under). Just thought that was cool.

Hey deer, thanks for your well wishes. Things are currently 'better' (no more homes destroyed, animals perished, and hopefully missing persons will turn up), but there's another heatwave on the way and a huge mass of hot air in the centre of Oz that can create havoc with the wrong winds.)

Anyway, about that Cult. Why wasn't I told?! I'm always on the lookout for a new cult to join. The others keep throwing me out.

Tis a small world though, getting smaller all the time with this internet thingy.

Certainly. Anyway you can only join 12 Tribes if you're an Amish hippie who secretly wishes that they could be Jewish so they could live by a very restrictive set of rules but hey, they get to do circle dances and wear baggy cotton clothing.
