Shared with SD's permission...

SD's and Dam-sel's 19-year old son, Dam-et, had several appointments today. The first was to follow up on some headaches he was having (I think), and the second was a consult with an oral surgeon regarding his wisdom teeth. About mid-day, I was told he was being sent to have a dye-contrast CAT scan. That was followed a few hours ago with the news he was being admitted to hospital for further tests.

What little I know has to do with anemia, low red blood cells, and low platelets. Also a concern under one of his wisdom teeth. Further blood tests are going to be run.

Whatever your belief system, please send white light, healing thoughts, and strength in my friends direction.

Much thanks...

Praying for healing and relief for you son, Savor. And strength for you and Mrs Dam.

Few things in life are tougher than watching your offspring in pain.

Finally got a diagnosis this evening. Even though the dots were pretty easy for us to connect, given the tests being run, it took the doctors a while to finally say the words:

Acute myeloid leukemia.

Chemo starts tomorrow. Oy.

He's only 19, a couple months shy of 20. Home for Spring Break; what a way to spend it. Spring term of his freshman year at Uni is now out of the question. Gotta work on improving the 70% survival odds for this.

Please keep the Light coming, Watchers. Thank you...

It's interesting, when Pam posted and I read it and as I responded my reaction was absolute and it was, "The kid's gonna have a rough patch but be just fine. He's got the strength so I'll send tranquility instead to help him through the stress and worry." I've had strong reactions like this before, a reaction that's so confident and it seems like I just know and can't explain how and every time I've been right. So believe what you will, my gut is telling me that without doubt he's going to be fine but the journey to fine will be rough.

So on that note, I'm sending more healing and more tranquility, a touch of extra tolerance for your son and some emotional stamina for those of you close to him who will need this to help see him through.
