Ok...so I have HBO, so at least this is not me!

I have HBO as well, but I can certainly sympathize with this.

There have been a few TV series that I wanted to catch up on, having missed the first season or two, and sometimes, it's just flat impossible to do legally.

So does the series stack up to the book at all? Can I watch it without raging at all the things they changed or left out?

There are some changes that are difficult to understand (they replaced Jeyne Westerling with a completely different new character), and the gratuitous nudity can be distracting (it's hard to take seriously sometimes because of it), but it's a good show and worth watching.

The cartoon is bullshit. I own the DVDs of the first season and the second season. Both bought from Amazon.

There is such a thing as time, and things tend to change when it goes by, SerScot.

(It's an old comic. Though annoying that The Oatmeal doesn't date them anywhere.)

Haha, agreed, I was looking for a date too. But yes, I saw this comic last year sometime IIRC.

Anyway, thanks, maybe I'll check it out.
