I own the second chronicles in hardback with the Darrell K. Sweet cover art. I've always wanted the first chronicles IN HARDBACK with the Darrell K. Sweet covert art, but I've never seen one in like 15 years, which makes me think it doesn't exist.

I can't think of a better place to ask than right here. Do they exist?

The publishing history of the Chronicles is a book in and of itself. Oh, the twists and turns.

I believe Del Ray published the paperback versions in the US, with the Sweet art that you like. But Doubleday published the "original" hardcover version of Lord Foul's Bane, with the SC Wyatt art. (Unless you count the SFBC version as "original", with the ghastly Foul ghost art.) And Holt Rinehart Winston published the hardcovers of The Illearth War and The Power That Preserves, also with Wyatt art.

So it seems the Sweet artwork went with the Del Ray books, which were the MMPs only.
