I'd like to get a copy and read it when it fits into the story of TIW, but I don't know what the group wants.
I'd say yes - would encourage me to read my copy ;)

Here is another question...where exactly does it fit into the story. I know it's around the time that the Bloodguard (sorry don't remember his name) is telling the story of the Giants....does anyone know the chapter that you would insert it into? Or was it supposed to be a chapter all by it's self? Also, how do you get a copy?

Its the story of Korick's mission, and has excellent insight into the bloodguard & what makes them tick. I'm all for reading Gilden Fire as part of TIW read :D .

It would probably fit in really well somewhere right after Korik's mission leaves. I think it was once published in a free standing form, but my copy is in a WONDERFUL short story collection by Donaldson called The Daughter of Regals. I'm not sure if it's still in print or not, but if it isn't you could try used book stores or maybe buy it used at Amazon. The title story is interesting because that world uses magic based on stone, wood, and blood. It's like he's finding another use for those three elements that are so important in magic in the Land. There's some other really good short stories in that book, too.

Guest - that is exactly where I placed it in my recent read of TIW. It fits well, although it is written from Korick's POV, which is sort of a switch in styles. It still fits well right there. 8)

Perhaps we should suggest to Vain that Gilden-fire be inserted into it's appropriate place in TIW reads!!!! I love the idea--I've been dying to talk about it!

I could possibly scan it & post it that way, however, I don't want to get caught up in any copyright issues. Any thoughts on those lines? :?

I read Gildenfire when it first came out but I don't remember any of it. It was in Daughters of Regals correct? Is that book still available online?

It might be, fairly, easy to find in used bookstores...

it probably would get you into copywrite issues...I'm pretty sure that you could probably find Daughter of Regals used at Amazon or at Books A Million on the web, or at a good used bookstore if you have one locally.

I know I checked for Gilden Fire a while back & it was not available. DoR should still be able to be found. Might be tough if everyone can't get a copy (to include it in the group read that is) :?

Get out there & find your copies!!!!
