The Harrow's idea

Did I miss something? Why didn't Jeremiah try the Harrow's idea of trapping the worm?
I understood that you cannot (or should not) kill the worm. But the Harrow said just trapping it would be enough.

I'd have to re-read that passage in AATE, but I think it was said, or at least implied by the Harrow, that doing so would require the power (or knowledge, maybe?) of the croyel in combination with Jeremiah.
Once the croyel was dead, presumably that was no longer a possibility.
That's also assuming that the Harrow was correct in his belief that such a thing was even possible - it may be that Jeremiah knew instinctively that it wasn't, and that's why it was never brought up after the Harrow's death.
It would have been nice to have that stated explicitly somewhere in TLD, though.

I think the Harrow was overstating his abilities--wildly--in order to impress people and make them think twice before trying to oppose him.

Perhaps Jer did exactly as the Harrow suggested. Maybe the (new) earth is a structure that traps the Worm ... for a little while.
