Going to first new post

For the last few weeks, when I click on the indicator to take me to the first new post on a thread, it takes me to the first new page on the top of the page it's on - NOT the actual new post. It does this on all browsers I try - IE, Firefox and Chrome. What gives? It is really annoying to have to scroll through lots of old posts to get to the newest ones!

If we're thinking about the same button, (the little page with the arrow), it's supposed to take you to the latest post in the thread, the bottom of the last page IOW.
I think depending on your session cookies, it might sometimes take you to the latest unread post, but not always.
If it's not doing that, I dunno why. Sorry.

Well I know it's not my computer. I used many BB systems, including other boards running versions of phpBB - and this is the only place where this behavior manifests. Aggravating.

Those links usually work right for me the first time, but if another new post happens during the same session using it again takes me to the original unread post and not the newer one. Haven't had it just stop at the top of the page.

Those links don't always work for me, either. Independent of browser. It's been going on for years. I just scroll down to the last post I read and keep going.

It's just annoying, when that first "new post" is at the bottom of a page of already read posts. I have to wait for the page to load, then skip to the bottom, skim back UP the page to the last post I recognize, then start reading again. REALLY annoying.

Meh, on the scale of annoying things, this ranks pretty low, for me.

I have no such problems. and I usually get whatever odd blips the site encounters.
