Sounds silly HLT, but I think THIS place is probably the best place for her to be. Sure it's not designated for the airing of particular issues of the type this lady has - but it could be all the better for her because of that. Instead of being surrounded by those who have also suffered the type of trauma she has, might not a degree of relief be found in having not only many sympathetic ears for her to utilise, but also gradually to be drawn into the realisation that there is a life beyond abuse. Another reason for this suggestion is that this is about the one place on the 'net' that I could trust that a hurt person would recieve solace [to the point where the Watchers were capable of giving it] and without the risk of encountering cruelty or worse, to be preyed upon, - things that happen not infrequently to people at the end of their tether on the web. In four or five years in this place I have rarely if ever encountered anything other than fairness and courtesy and have come to 'know and trust' many members more than I would ever have believed possible for people I have only ever communicated with through the medium of a screen. Also - perhaps we could reccomend her a good book.....

You know, the total opposite from the Think Tank.
Really? Seriously? You still think it's that bad?

No, I can laugh at it, too--point taken.

There have to be fora like that out there but there would have to be extra vetting of the people who are asking to join to rule out trolls, stalkers, and/or exes. Also, the people who are currently in a pending court case will have to be extra-careful about what they say online.

No worries--nothing taken seriously there.

The thread topic is serious, though.
