Whither the Watch?

Post by aliantha »

Hey all,

It's no secret that participation at the Watch has been dropping off for some time. Yet the Watch is a special place, and I think a whole lot of us would be sad if it withered away.

Prompted by some discussions at E-fest last month, we've started a discussion in GenDisc to see what we can do about it. I'd love for everybody come in and share their thoughts. :)

Ali, completely agree. I've come to know and love the Watch. However, I just cannot find the time to read very long posts, or posts that I have to scroll from side to side - the old eyes just cannot cope with it. That's why I haven't participated in the dissections - yet. If I cut these long dissections and paste them into word I should be able to read them properly and see if I can find something to say in reply!
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

I think she's talking about when people post really big pictures, and that page of posts then gets to be too wide to see without scrolling.

I dislike when people do that as well. But that isn't the case on the "Whither the Watch" thread.

Hardly likely to be the case in dissections. (If it does happen, apply to the mod to replace the image with a link to the image to fix the prob.)
