MOST ANTICIPATED UPCOMING MOVIE

With the glorious arrival of ROTK, moviedom's sights are now set on a new horizon. There may not be a rival for ROTK in the near future but there are many interesting projects in the works that should be worth our anticipation. I'll list a few of the films that I am looking forward to.

Episode III. We all may argue about the worthiness of the prequels, but I think we all would like to see the final chapter. There are many interesting questions that should be answered and I for one want to know even if the glory of Star Wars isn't what it used to be.
Spiderman II. I just saw the trailer. Doc Ock looked pretty cool to me. :-)
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. I didn't even know this was coming until I viewed the trailer recently. Jude Law, Gweneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie are enough to get my attention, but this movie looks like something I am really going to enjoy.
Chronicles of Riddick. I mentioned on other threads how cool I thought Pitch Black was. Seeing more of such an interesting character as Riddick sounds fine by me. Now if the story is worth a crap......
The Punisher. Filmed almost entirely here in the Tampa Bay area, I'd watch this film just to see the familar landmarks of my home town up on the big screen, but there are some indications that the film might be a worth addition to the new crop of superhero fims from Marvel. :-)
Fantastic Four. Probably the film I am most excited to see in the next couple of years. It was unreal to see Spiderman, if FF is even half of what it could be, I am going to be in fanboy heaven when if finally arrives.
TROY. From what I've seen so far, this could be a real cool flick.
I've got more but I won't drone on forever. :-)

I'm really looking forward to Troy, FF, and, now that you just told me of its existence, Punisher. Gates of Fire would be my #1, but it's only in the planning stages I guess.

I keep hearing that Pyxar is working on a super-hero film. Given what that little studio had done so far, that one will probably be great! :)

I've seen the previews for The Incredibles and it looks absolutlely terrific. In reality it is probably near the top of my list. :-)

I just watched the one with the guy trying to buckle his belt. Brilliant!!! :D I love when he slams his hand down on the table, or dresser, or whatever it is.

Oooh, I'm looking forward to Troy as well. The trailer looks amazing... so many boats!!!

Also The Prisoner of Azkaban, when does that come out?

The preview I saw didn't have a specific date for Azkaban. I think it just said 2004.

Somewhere near a thousand, maybe? ;)

The Punisher looks alright, though it doesn't look like much more than a moderately-priced action flick. Not substantially different than the one with Dolph Lundgren. That's probably how it should be, but I'm still not impressed.

Leper Fairy, try this:

And, Syl -- sure looks like around a thousand, doesn't it?

I'm looking forward to Troy as well and I can't wait for "Gates of Fire" but who knows how long it will be before it's completed. Right now I'd have to say that Mel Gibson's "The Passion of Christ" is the next big film I can't wait to see. Despite the controversy it's being hailed as a stunning masterpiece with tremendous emotional power. Sounds like my kind of film!!!!

I've seen only small clips and stills of the new Punisher. I know what you mean Syl, but I can't imagine the film being as unworthy as the first movie was. I have to think it will be something more than a low budget, get the drug dealers, kind of film that would have so little to do with the comic character that you could slap any title on it. :D

When's Gibson's movie coming out? I haven't heard anything about it in months.

Passion is supposed to be released Feb 25, 2004 in the U.S. and Canada.

I'm interested in seeing it. I've heard that Gibson will sub-title the movie. The dialogue is spoken in the languages of the time and he originally wasn't going to sub-title it. I read that it was screened for the Pope a couple of weeks ago and that he gave it his approval. There have been some Jewish leaders upset with the project though and its supposed anti-semitism.

What?! The movie's going to be in Aramaic?

Yes, in Aramaic and Latin.

I heard that The Passion was on hold. Anyone else heard this?
I would like to see it as well but believe that it may be a little too gruesome for the general public.

I have to agree. As visually stunning as it might be, I couldn't watch without a clue. I can't see myself learning new languages in order to watch. :-)

I think the story is kind of well known, you should know the outcome.

Yeah, so if we we tell somebody that, in the end, Covenant
Spoiler
gives his ring to Foul, is killed by Foul, thereby placing himself between Foul and the Arch,
we can make a movie without dialog?

(:D Just giving you a hard time. I saw your  )
