Wow. Since Mork & Mindy, Robin Williams has been one of the funniest comedians in TV and film. My favorite movie of his is Dead Poets Society. He'll be missed. Godspeed.

Yeah, DPS is my favorite, too. Great actor. His stand up stuff was amazing in the beginning. He never much got new material, but still, he was something else.

"New material?"
Fist, there was a constant stream
Robin could ad-lib!

Truly a sad day
For me, a mentor is lost.
(Per my backstory...)

Native of Florin
Schooled at Welton in Vermont
Taught by John Keating

Since Robin was John
A teacher of mine is gone
But that is not all

Many years ago
Robin inspired my "alt's"
Nacent stand-up act

Not just a comic
Also scary drama skills
Mourn a great actor...

While it received mediocre reviews, my favorite film of his is What Dreams May Come. The scene towards the end with his wife in Hell just...

*sigh*

"Moscow on the Hudson."

I read a news story just now that said when he was at Julliard, he was sometimes one of only two students in the class. The other was Christopher Reeve. And the professor was John Houseman. 8O Oh, to have been a fly on the wall...

The whole thing's just so sad. The news reports have been saying he suffered from depression, but a social worker friend says he was actually bipolar. I can definitely see that -- some of his humor was so manic.

Yes.. I loved this movie. Its ironic that, in this movie he is trying to save his wife after she commits suicide.

Christopher Reeve said that Williams was the first person to make him smile after his accident.

..." Look!..Yon moon, like testicle,,hangs low in the sky..."
R. Williams

I read that Tony Stewart was seen driving in William's neighborhood that evening.

"Bicentennial Man" was my favorite. I'll miss him.

+1, dAN

As Dam-sel and Menolly will attest, "One is glad to be of service" from that movie is a line that has stuck with me all these years.

Anyone remember this one?

Yawner movie. But a very fun, almost self-evident casting choice.

Who else else could have been

except RW? Fun choice again.

And

It's like these parts were created just because we had RW to put in them.

Some other movies we should remember.

Other movies -
Although it has been mentioned everywhere on Facebook, it is one of my favorite movies of all time, and definitely my favorite Gilliam flicks and my favorite Robin Williams movie:

Some others that haven't been getting any love:

Edit: Oops...looks like you did have Toys in after all. It must not have loaded the first time I tried.

This is so hard to look at. How do we get to this point? I always felt his depression under all that mania. I feel that way about Jim Carrey too.

When he was not 'on' he was a very decent actor. But I couldn't watch his manic stuff. I felt it was off, very bipolar. Another one lost to the void.

so sad.
