Verizon does the same thing. There is a link in that story where a phone can be tested to see if the cookie is attached. The suggestion on the testing site is to use a VPN. I was already using one to reduce my data usage so the cookie wasn't attached when I tested my Verizon phone.

This is part of why I still don't have a "smart device", by which I mean any modern (released in the last 5 years) device which can maintain an always-on connection as long as I am any reasonable distance from a tower. I have the emergency phone for work (I am now always "on call") but I don't have one of my own and probably won't get one until my old hunk of junk completely dies.
The Tank is gone and now so am I.
