I don't think we have any Bible-is-truth fundamentalists here, so there shouldn't be any fistfights. ;)

This is apparently a reprint of a Huffington Post piece from a few years back. It's kind of an exercise in comparative religion, with the birth of Jesus as the subject. Anyhow, here you go.

I've seen a lot of information about the jesus character being a solar messiah. Makes perfect sense when you hear it explained.

Ananda, I'd heard Jesus compared to Mithras before, but some of the observations in this article were new to me.
