Thomas Covenant Limited Editions - would you or wouldn't you

Now imagine, Cemetery Dance or Subterranean Press (for instance) would announce the publication of the complete Thomas Covenant Chronicles - limited editions.
This would mean: three states for each book: a gift edition, a signed/numbered edition and a signed/lettered edition.
Of course, it wouldn't be a free-for-all, so there's a hefty price tag:

*gift edition (1500) - $ 75.00
*signed/numbered slipcased edition (750) - $150.00
*signed/lettered traycased edition (52) - $500.00

I'm really curious to find out who would even care. Going by a previous topic I posted, not too many.
Hope I'm wrong, as a Thomas Covenant series would be my holy grail of limited series.

I'm happy with my signed first editions.

I don't really bother with special editions; they tend to be a bit too pricy.

I really do not know. On the one hand, even 75 dollars can buy 5 new books, but I have also been slowing down on my book buying lately...

I can not see myself buying a lettered edition, I'd need a safe or something! But a numbered and/or gift edition is possible.

I might spring for the numbered edition. The top-of-the-line one would be out of my price range.

EDITED to add: Oh, wait -- would that be the price per book?? Then I'd likely stick with what I've already got.

Hang on, is that $75 for all 10 books? Or per book?

(I'm pretty happy with what I've got, (they have sentimental value to me), but a matching set might be nice. Unless it's per book. :D The exchange rate would slaughter me. :D)

You and I had the same thought at the same time, Av. 8O

Per book. Say roughly one a year.

I'll be honest with you, frik: If I hadn't already had SRD sign all of my copies of his books, I might be more inclined to shell out extra $$ for special editions. But I've long since given up on my fantasy of an in-home library or reading room (I move too often, and books are hella expensive to move ;) ), and am now buying more Kindle books than dead-tree books anyhow. I might spend $150 for a set of all 10 books, just to have a matchy-matchy set. But I doubt I would spend $750, let alone $1500 or $5000, for a set of special editions.

But that's just me. Other Watchers may well feel differently.

My First Chronicles are literally falling apart and the Second aren't any better, so yeah yeah, I need to buy new editions anyway, hellfire.

:D My LFB is pretty battered, and repaired with tape and stuff. :D It was a gift to me many years ago, and rather second-hand already even then. I think my TWL is also a little worse for wear, but all the rest are in relatively good nick.

On the one hand I would love to own a matching set.
On the other, I tend to read my books to death. A LOT. So, paperbacks for me.

what I really would like is a set of the paperbacks I had for the first trilogy. red cover for the first. blue for another - and I forget the third.

They're on e-bay all the time, sarge.

Won't have that new paperback smell, though.

Then again, I enjoy the old paperback smell, too. Nostalgia.
