In an effort to keep Donaldson readers informed, Putnams publicity and I are working to put together an SRD news mailing list. If we can get enough email addresses, readers on the list will receive direct news of upcoming publications and ongoing projects, as well as--possibly--JPGs of cover art, opportunities to get ARCs, and whatever else we can think of. There will not be a lot of traffic on this mailing list, mostly because I write so slowly. And there will be NO traffic if we don't get enough email addresses to make the effort worthwhile. But if you're interested, and you'd like to take a chance on it, email a brief note (e.g. please add me to the SRD mailing list) to:

You'll know the project is successful if you start receiving news.

Donaldson's pimping the mailing list a bit today. Plus providing a bit of insight into the complex machinery of marketing literature.
And
a delicious hint that there's something following TKJ&TAG!

(It's all but assured that, if you haven't signed up for the e-mail in time for Putnam's "blasts", you'll here about it at KW when other people receive them. But I hope people are signing up even if they know they will get the news here anyway - - numbers matter!)

Have they sent any e-mails out yet over the SRD Mailing List? I sent an e-mail a while back to join, but haven't seen any response yet.

What WF said. There was some minimum they needed for it. All I got was the "thanks, you've been added" mail, nothing since.
Still, I guess the announcement means
we're now on
SRD's list.

So did I, and that prompted me to pre-order the book from Amazon - which was the purpose of the email, I'm sure.

I preodered mine online a while back, but I won't get it until November. I think I would have been better off to preorder it through my local bookstore, then I would have had it right on the date!
