Matrix Reloaded was No. 6 on my list.

It nearly did live up to the hype and high expectations. A stupendous sequel! Matrix Revolutions, on the other hand, was...um...just stupefying.

Sadly, I must agree.
The problem was that "The Matrix" was so revolutionary in its presentation, special effects, ideas, story telling, acting was good, plot didn't drift away, and the movie made you think!
There was some of this in the other two movies, but what they really should have done was make one more movie and save the last one while they let it slowcook for a few years. I don't know what the brothers needed but I think they thought they had something and really they didn't. It was like watching the new Star Wars. It had lost its original appeal and became a money ticket instead of something really special.
