HEROES Reborn

Tim Kring's original show was brilliant in its concept even if a little mishandled in its development and presentation. He had two primary problems with the show: 1) he didn't settle on how powers developed initially and 2) that darned writers' strike killed it in Season 2.

Here we are, though, more than 5 years later, coming back to this show and many of these characters. Am I looking forward to it? Yes. Am I concerned that the show will suffer because of what happened before? Yes. How many characters did they stupidly write out of the show for the flimsiest reasons? How many characters were built up only to have very anti-climactic endings? Too many. Lindermann (the mob boss played by Malcolm McDowell), Wireless (Stana Katic), St. Joan (the actress escapes me, the young woman with photographic reflexes who could do anything she could see someone else do), Charlie (everyone's favorite Midland waitress with the eidetic memory), Claude (the invisible Christopher Eccelston--just how did he survive the fall off that bridge? or did he really fall?) , and others whom I have forgotten by now.

Let's just hope that Mr. Kring has been watching superhero-themed movies and TV shows since then so he can figure what to do correctly (thank you, Arrow and Flash) and what to avoid (thank you, Dark Knight Rises).

never saw the show. but a revival now could be smart. superheroes are everywhere, and no sign of public fatigue yet. no matter how many bad movies we get (hey there Fantastic Four!)

Wasn't the strike in Season 3?
