I had a few minutes to kill and was bored, so I ran the statistics from this thread:
kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=24534
Here are the statistics for each book, averaging the rankings of each person who responded (n = 23) where 1 is Best and 10 is Worst:
Book --- Average --- St Dev --- Highest Rank --- Lowest Rank
LFB --- 4.70 --- 2.22 --- 1 --- 9
TIW --- 3.04 --- 2.51 --- 1 --- 10
TPTP --- 3.39 --- 2.21 --- 1 --- 10
TWL --- 3.30 --- 2.18 --- 1 --- 9
TOT --- 4.65 --- 2.39 --- 1 --- 10
WGW --- 5.39 --- 1.44 --- 2 --- 9
ROTE --- 7.78 --- 1.65 --- 3 --- 10

The main reason I went about it was that I was curious if one of the Last Chronicles would crack the Top 6, but apparently not.
Poor Last Chronicles. I would almost feed bad for them, if they didn't suck so much.
Of the Last Chronicles, FR appeared to bode the best.
And WGW was clearly the least favorite of the original six. Interesting.
And I thought for sure that TOT would have the highest variation in votes, as a love-it-or-hate-it book. But not the case. Of the original six, the TIW did, even though it was the clear overall winner. Apparently that's the book with the biggest swing of opinion.

Interesting findings, and thanks for doing the calculations.
I may have said something to this effect on another thread, but one of the difficulties I have with attempting to rank the books is that each, to a considerable extent, defines the possibilities for the ones that come after. For example, in general the earlier books do most to create the universe of the Chronicles, while the later ones are, relatively speaking, filling in details. To take another example, the denouement of WGW with Vain and Findail merging to become the Staff of Law was reasonably predictable after reading TOT (at least I predicted it).
I would agree with the general consensus that the first two trilogies were better than the last one, but I think SRD was on a hiding to nothing as we would have afflicted him with rue unending, unambergrised for all time, if he hadn't written the Last Chronicles.
