First Watcher to break their new year resolution competition

Post by peter »

C'mon - post your resolution here......and then break it! Everybody loves a good heroic failure.

Mine is not to have a hangover for all of 2016...........( some chance, but I will try).

Unsurprisingly, I do not make new years resolutions. :D

I'm sticking with 1920x1080 resolution for 2016, but will break that when my eyes won't focus properly.

I decided for my new year's resolution I'm not going to read any blog posts or articles about sad/rabid puppies, Vox Day, or John C Wright this year. I decided on this resolution when I was 1/3rd of the way through a blog post about John C Wright. I finished reading the post.

 First prize to Murrin then! Still plenty of scope for weak and vacillating attempts at resoluteness in the runner up classes.

I don't usually make resolutions. If I did, it would probably revolve around finding a new job.

Not sure how that works, resolution-wise. Technically I have failed for the past seven years, but (technically) I have until the end the year before it counts as failure.

Apologies Murrin for the above (now edited to correct) howler! [If you didn't see it ignore this post!]

The auto correct on this tablet is a malicious demon and slips changes of wording past you at every tip and turn if you don't constantly monitor your actual post.

In an effort to and weight to my above 'resolution' I'm signing up for the 'dry january' campaign as run by the UK Alcohol Awareness campaign (an NHS/government quango set up to, well, do what it says). It's probably ......I don't know......10 years since I went a month without a drink - and while I go at least five or six days a week dry, when I do hit it, it has a tendency to be bigstyle! This, I want to get under wraps. It makes me feel like crap and slows me up from doing stuff I want to.

Not having had a drink new years eve (I worked both the eve and the day), so far, so good! ;)

Thanks Sorus. Tomorrow is a hurdle in that it's my cooking day - that means (usually) three or four courses and free-flowing wine to wash it down. Tomorrow instead, it's the cinema and a Chinese!

resolved and broken, all in one post. I resolved a one week liquid fast to shrink my appetite. Made it about 6 hours and thought I would die. So I had a bowl of oatmeal. I figure if I made it thin enough it would qualify as liquid. :?

I only drink for taste, not effect, so that wouldn't be a particularly difficult one for me. :D

A clear head and the suns out. Book tokens to spend and a day off work. I like it!

Shouldn't one resolve to do something over which one has some control? :D
