Defeat of the Badger
The Badger fell upon the sand, his body broken down.
The battle left him bleeding life upon the dusty ground.
He growled and whimpered at the moon that mocked him in the night.
The world around him seemed content to watch his helpless plight.
The enemy that drew his wrath had howled, proud and strong.
The Badger bowed his head in shame before the woodland throng.
The claws had slashed and teeth had gnashed to bring the Badger down.
Now the king of meadowland, dethroned and cruelly wronged.
Badger now burning bright.
Badger, can’t you see?
You are now a pitiable clown.
Badger-isn’t me.
