Of your curated list, Murrin ;) :

Ancillary Mercy is on my Kindle -- haven't read it yet. I liked Uprooted a lot.

I'd pick "The Force Awakens" over "Mad Max," but I'm probably in the minority on that one. "Mad Max" just seemed like one long chase scene to me, but then I haven't seen any of the other movies (or read the comics? graphic novels?) so I'm sure I'm missing a ton of back story.

From the whole list:
I should read Seveneves at some point. No opinion on any of the other additions.

For movies -- meh. I'd probably still pick "The Force Awakens." The second "Avengers" movie didn't have as much of the snark I liked so much in the first movie. And I should probably Netflix "The Martian" at some point.

And I agree that Vox Day should find another hobby. Good to hear that this is likely to be the last year that he'll have the opportunity to disrupt the Hugos.

My suspicion now is that after the enthusiasm with which the fanbase has met the nomination of Chuck Tingle (author of surreal gay erotica such as "Pounded in the Butt by My Own Butt" and "Pounded In The Butt By My Book "Pounded In The Butt By My Own Butt""), Vox might decide that his new plan will be to try to get Chuck or someone like him on the ballot every year.

"The Force Awakens" was just "A New Hope" to me. And "The Martian" was pretty boring. :D

As I said in the Flicks forum, amazingly I didn't hate it. :D

It's also occured to me that even under the new rules it would be possible for VD to keep his name on the Best Editor ballot every year.

The results were announced at Worldcon last night. I think the final list is a pretty good one.

He did a miniseries showing what Dream did immediately before he was captured in Preludes and Nocturnes. It's available collected as a hardcover, and is worth it for the art by J. H. Williams III.

Yeah, I love the Sandman art. I actually don't have any of them, except for Death: The High Cost Of Living.

Must try pick them up at some point.

I got to go to GRRM's "Hugo Losers Party". It was great. :)
