My main hope is to see the authors unmatched ability in world building once again excecised, and the trilogy format gives ample scope for this. I am less enamoured of the Mordants Need style court intrigues and more drawn toward quest style exploration of new worlds. Here's hoping! :)

So...do we need a new Forum for the new Trilogy?

"General SRD Discussion and Other Works" doesn't get enough traffic as it is. I think the Seventh Decimate discussions would have a good home in there.

I think we could have the pre-launch topic there, but a trilogy should get a forum...in fact, we should stick to convention and have a sub-forum per book...

That's cool with me.

Personally I think having too many works discussed in a single forum makes things confusing. Especially a whole trilogy.

We should have a sub-forum. But for The Great God's War, not for The Seventh Decimate - it's a trilogy. Trilogies deserve sub-forums.

"The book is now scheduled for November 2017. Hardcover, e-book, and audio; paperback eventually."

That's all we have from the author.

Amazon has it available on November 14, 2017.
Barnes & Noble has the same date.
So it must be so.

Probably about June 18 for the UK Hardcover then! guess I'll have to get a Kindle to get mine then unless I'm prepared to sit it out!

So before someone inevitably pops in here to say that new forum should be hidden to avoid spoilers, I'll throw in that I think that unnecessarily discourages new members who are looking to discuss the books. Can we keep this one open?

Av and I had a (very brief) discussion a while back about whether a hidden forum was needed, and he pretty much leaned toward no.

OTOH, the new forum is currently unmodded. For spoiler control, perhaps it *should* have a mod?

Just remember people can't NOT see topic names. As soon as someone posts a thread with the title "Can you believe Robarf died like that?" it will suck.

The only place I ever see topic titles is inside the forum they're posted in.

Since I suggested that the forum would need a mod, I guess it's only fair I offer to do so. I'll certainly be reading anything posted there anyway.

If someone else wants it, I'm good with that too.

If you use "posts since last visit" you'll see the titles. (I'll put a "topic titles can be spoilers" in.)
